A 20-Minute Pre-Market Checklist for HOSE Swing Traders

Desk prepared for morning chart review before market open

Alumni who maintain a consistent review habit outperform those who redraw trendlines only after a loss — not because of prediction accuracy, but because they notice line expiry before price action forces the realisation. This checklist fits in twenty minutes before the HOSE morning session and follows the hierarchy we teach: broad to narrow.

Minutes 1–5: VN30 daily structure

Open the VN30 daily chart. Mark only the current active support and resistance trendlines using SensePath body-anchor rules. Note whether yesterday's close respected or violated any line. Write one sentence: "Index bias is [neutral / upward / downward] because [reason]." If you cannot state a reason, bias is neutral — do not infer direction from a single candle.

Minutes 6–10: Sector overlay

Identify which sector index your watchlist symbols belong to — banking, real estate, steel, etc. Draw or refresh the primary trendline on that sector's daily chart. A stock breaking out while its sector line is broken upward rarely sustains on HOSE. Cross-reference: if sector and VN30 disagree, reduce position size on any planned entry that day.

Minutes 11–18: Individual symbols

Review no more than five symbols per day. For each: confirm the daily trendline, check whether yesterday's action was a test, break, or noise relative to that line, and note volume versus the twenty-day average. Flag any symbol approaching a line for the first time in ten sessions — these are watch, not trade, unless a prior plan exists.

Minutes 19–20: Write the plan

On a single index card or sticky note, list: symbols to watch, the level that would change your view, and one thing you will not do today (e.g. "no entries on first 15-minute candle"). Place the card visible at your desk. This step takes discipline but prevents impulsive morning trades against the structure you just reviewed.

The checklist is included as a tear-out page in our Foundations workbook. Alumni receive an updated PDF each quarter when we adjust volume thresholds for current market conditions.
